Join us on September 3 and 4 for Samaritan Days of Giving to help us provide the above-and-beyond, life-enhancing care everyone in our South Jersey community deserves. For over 45 years, we have proudly led the way with expert and compassionate patient-centered care including Palliative Medicine, Social Connections, Hospice Care and Grief Support, now serving over 13,000 patients, clients, and their families each year.
Healing Hearts reflects what Samaritan has always believed: that grief deserves compassion, time, and community; especially for children. Drawing on the expertise of our Social Work team, the Center for Grief Support, our Music Therapists, and dedicated volunteers; these gatherings bring families together for quarterly, half-day sessions, offered at no cost. The goal is simple and profound: to give children and their loved ones a safe place to feel, to connect, and to begin healing together.
The days themselves are intentionally welcoming. There are snacks to share, tables set with art supplies, and opportunities for children and adults to create side-by-side. In these moments, grief often finds expression through color, texture, and imagination; a language that can feel more accessible than words alone. With gentle guidance from staff and volunteers, creativity opens doors to conversation, reflection, and hope.
This work is possible because of the generosity of individual donors like you. Your support ensures that Samaritan can continue offering these experiences; not only through Healing Hearts, but across the many grief support services that reach thousands of individuals each year. Every day, our staff walk alongside those navigating sadness, anger, anxiety, and loss; helping them discover that even in the hardest moments, something positive can still take shape.
