Samaritan Announces Palliative Medical Partners Expansion

Mount Laurel , NJ – Among the first, largest, and most experienced palliative medical providers in the region, Samaritan is proud to announce the expansion of its palliative care services.

Palliative care is essential, quality of life care, providing an extra layer of support for people living with any serious illness, at any stage from the time of diagnosis, during treatments, and through the end of life.

Led by Chief Medical Officer Dr. Stephen Goldfine, Samaritan’s palliative care team of physicians and advanced nurse practitioners is now expanding to include nurses, social workers, and care coordinators. These compassionate experts relieve the pain, symptoms, and stress of serious illness. Their unique team approach helps patients and those who care about them live their best life every day.

Samaritan palliative specialists help patients understand their treatment options, help them express and document their goals of care, support their decisions, and optimize their quality of life. Guided by the patient’s goals, the team aligns care and treatment plans to honor their values, wishes, and preferences – all in collaboration with other physicians and providers caring for the patient.

Along with providing expert medical care, Samaritan recognizes that supportive services are essential to helping patients and their families stay in the comfort of home whenever possible.  Samaritan social workers provide support, guidance, and coordinate helpful services that may include personal care, meals, and other activities of daily living supports.

Samaritan’s palliative care expansion helps patients access services and supports wherever most convenient for them. Our team is available to see patients at home, in senior living communities, outpatient offices, select hospitals, or via telehealth.

Samaritan is also expanding community outreach to help educate and empower more people to get the care and support they need and deserve. Through a Commitment to Inclusion, Diversity & Access, Samaritan honors every person’s culture, wishes, and values by respecting who they are and what matters most to them.
