A Special Message from President/CEO Mary Ann Boccolini
This year, we celebrate 40 years of caring for the community.
Over the last 4 decades, you have invited us into your homes, opened up your lives to us, and allowed us to care for your loved ones during their most vulnerable times.
Since then, we’ve helped hundreds of thousands of your family members, neighbors, and friends in South and Central Jersey, and we are humbled and grateful for the honor to be of service.
In celebration of our 40th anniversary, we are proud to announce a bold new brand that highlights the name that you have trusted for years – Samaritan – and signifies our expanding life-enhancing care options.
Since we’ve had the honor of serving your family members and friends over the last four decades, you’ve known Samaritan for hospice care. Over the years, many of you have said that our services were so helpful and that you wished you had called us sooner.
Please know that we’ve been listening. Now we want you to know that we have more ways to “meet you wherever you are” and help you through the many stages of aging and illness.
Our new HomeVisit Physician group, led by Dr. Kenneth Giacobbo, is now available to make house calls to provide you with a complete range of primary care services when office visits are not possible.
Dr. Stephen Goldfine and our Palliative Medical Partners team is here to provide you with the supportive care you need at any stage of serious illness. Our palliative medical specialists provide relief from distressing symptoms and help you express your personal healthcare goals.
As our care options expand, we continue to provide the essential services of our Center for Grief Support for anyone in our community who is coping with the loss of a loved one. Our experienced counselors provide counseling, support groups education and outreach, along with online relaxation and stress reducing resources.
We are also proud of the generous donations we receive from grateful families in appreciation for the care we provide. As a locally-based not-for-profit provider, we use those gifts to provide complementary therapies, education and outreach and care for the uninsured right here in our community.
Please look for a new Samaritan landmark in Mount Laurel. Our administrative office and Center for Grief Support are now located at the intersection of Church and Fellowship Roads. This is our new home base for nearly 400 employees who fulfill Samaritan’s mission of providing extraordinary compassion and professional expertise for those we serve.
If you know someone whose quality of life is compromised by the stress of aging or illness, we invite you to call on Samaritan for help and guidance. I invite you call one of our Nurse Coordinators to learn more about the many ways we can help you, and those who care about you live your best life every day.
As we are guided by the ethic of human service to help make the world a better place through our loving kindness, I offer these words of wisdom from Oprah Winfrey: ” When you make loving others the story of your life, there’s never a final chapter, because the legacy continues. You lend your light to one person, and he or she shines it on another and another and another.”
On behalf of everyone at Samaritan, I thank you for the honor of serving the our community for the last 40 years.
